Pathology

The pathology of a cancer is the detailed information obtained by examining the cells and tissues of the tumor under a microscope.

Frozen sections of a tissue sample are done when an immediate answer about a sample is needed and are normally obtained after a biopsy or surgery. For a more detailed explanation see the NCI Factsheet : Pathology Reports

IntelliDose stores a description of the pathology as part of the diagnoses information. See .Dx1 & Dx2 for more information.
